Kurt Cobain hat sich heute vor einem Vierteljahrhundert umgebracht. Sein Einfluss ist aber ungebrochen... Auch auf die Mixtape-Redaktion.
Es ist nicht nur gefühlt eine Ewigkeit her, dass mir mein Papa sagte, dass die Musik, die ich hörte, früher Mal ein Hit gewesen wäre. Es ist gefühlt eine Ewigkeit her, dass ich bei einer Freundin saß und wir zusammen auf MTV unzählige Dokus und Live-Mitschnitte zum Gedenken an Kurt Cobains Tod zu einer Flasche Appelkorn ansahen. Es ist mindestens genauso lange her, dass ich mich in die Idee hereinsteigerte, dass Courtney Love eindeutig den Tod Kurt Cobains zu verschulden hatte - seinen Mord beauftragt hatte. Es ist Jahre her, dass ich mein Zimmer mit Postern, Postkarten und Zeitungsausschnitten von Kurt und Nirvana tapezierte. Es ist lange her, dass ich seine Tagebücher und all die Bücher über Kurt Cobain verschlang.
In seinen Tagebüchern listet Kurt Cobain seine 50 liebsten Alben aller Zeiten auf. Eigentlich sollen es die 50 liebsten Alben der ganzen Band sein. Aber machen wir uns nichts vor.
Es ist mittlerweile Jahre her, dass mir eine meiner besten Freundinnen zum Geburststag auf drei CDs ein Mixtape mit einzelnen Songs aus Kurt Cobains Top 50 schenkte. Und es ist auch schon wieder Jahre her, dass ich mit einem Freund aus der Mixtape-Redaktion durch Irland fuhr, und mir vorgenommen habe, eine Auswahl dessen auch einmal hier zu präsentieren.
