Drum & Bass im Wandel der Zeiten
Nirvana, die Kelly Family und ehh Macarena sind so die Dinge die unsere Generation noch mit den 90ern verbindet. Doch irgendwo zwischen Boygroups und Plateauschuhen kam zur selben Zeit ein Movement auf, welches auch über 20 Jahre später als eines der aufregendsten Subkulturen weltweit gilt.
Während Darius und Jonas damals noch mit Bauklötzen
spielten, war DJ Dash, der heiß ersehnte Gast unserer nächsten
Sendung schon mittendrin und voll dabei. Als einer der ersten prägte
er die Szene im Ruhrpott als Plattendealer, DJ und Gestalter des
„Juicy Beats“ Festival. Mit der Dortmunder Sendung „Vinyl Asyl“
und dem „Club der Rebublik“ im Deutschlandradio bereichert Dash
die sonst so mainstreamige Radiolandschaft um rollende Bässe und
technoide Klänge. Außerdem gibt’s dort soulige Ausflüge von Hip
Hop über Old School bis zu Jazz. Und damit Dash seinen
undergroundigen Musikstil auch im Nachtleben vollends ausleben kann,
veranstaltet er die Drum & Bass Partyreihe „Subport“ unter
Deck auf einem Schiff im Dortmunder Hafen. Man könnte meinen mehr
subkulturelle Praxis geht nicht? Falsch gedacht, denn dazu ist Dash
einer der wenigen DJs im Drum & Bass Bereich, der seiner
Leidenschaft noch mit der guten alten Schallplatte frönt.
